So, while I enjoy watching a bunch of whiny American teenagers get slaughtered by foul creatures of the underworld, it isn't enough to drag me back into this old monstrosity. Some students are said to have heard awful screams, and there is talk of mysterious disappearances.
After one of their friends mysteriously disappears, a group of students decide to investigate the disturbing events. One evening after class, they stay behind and are locked inside the school, determined to discover what is going on. The students discover a conspiracy involving injections turning students into mutated monsters, mostly experimentations based on a rare plant spore, with the possibility to allow people to live forever. It is discovered that the nurse, Elisabeth, and principal, Herbert, are over years old but seem only to be in their 60s, thanks to the tests they performed on each other.
The students later come across Herbert, who is killed by a teacher seeking to cure himself of the infection caused by Herbert's experiments.
Herbert's twin, Leonard, sees his dead brother and becomes angry. He murders the teacher and then leaves the teenagers to defeat the biggest mutant seen yet. After defeating him, they return to the gym and inject themselves with the cure. However, Leonard returns and after a battle, Leonard gives into the sunlight and everything is back to normal.

Together with his friends, who are also distinguished by unusual skills, he decides to conduct his own investigation. Explore the dark corridors of the school in search of any clues, but stay alert all the time. Some critics, including X-Play, have stated that this was the only redeeming quality, and mocked Doom id 3 on the non-application of such a concept.
In this survival horror game, you take control of a group of 5 American students. With your friends, you try to unravel the mysterious happenings at this unremarkable-looking school. Cockroaches typically breed where there is filth and decay, and as I played the game I could almost smell the rotting stink that appears to be just below the surface. However, the complaints that I had were that the movements of the characters didn't seem all that natural, and as a matter of fact, the characters didn't look all that physically correct, arms appeared a little too long to be non-simian, legs a tad too short, weird.
Also of note, the cut scenes seemed pretty grainy to me, as if this ported version of the PC game didn't quite translate all that well to Xbox format, which is just plain strange to me. The inventory system was fairly clever and easy to use, items can be combined for better usage and uses other then what they were made for.
Since the game features five different students, there is that unique ability factor that they all possess. Plus, when you find a second character, a second player can grab a controller and take over as that person. It's an average survival horror game without any real scares. Sure the controls are nice and there are a couple of minor surprises, but the game feels dated and imagine less. Only fans of 70's and 80's teen slasher flicks or those who must play every horror game out there are going to want this one.
